| In the aftermath of a major incident many people may be
affected
psychologically. | |
This may include:
- Survivors of the incident
- Relatives and friends of survivors
- Relatives and friends of those who die as a result of the
incident
- Emergency Response personnel
People react to Trauma in different ways, and while some recover
quickly, others may need ongoing supoprt for months or years after
the event.
The Council provides a range of social and psychological support
services in the aftermath of a major incident in the form of a
Humanitarian Assistance Centre. This will be established in a
convenient location which is easily accessible to the public, where
those affected can seek information, guidance and
counselling.
