The Council collects Business Rates based on property
valuations by a separate body, the Valuation Office Agency. The
rates collected are not retained by the council but are paid over
to central government, which then pools all this income and
redistributes it to all local councils on a per capita basis or
head of population.

of organisations who offer free and impartial advice. They

National Debtline National Debtline offers
free, confidential and independent help over the phone. You can
call their helpline and also download publications from their
website.

CAB is a good place to find free advice. They provide free
information and advice on legal, money and other problems. You can
