Markets
There are several thriving markets throughout the area, whilst shops in Ironbridge and the Maws Craft Centre have a wide range of gifts, crafts and antiques for those with a little more time to browse. Central is the Telford Shopping Centre. This is Shropshire's largest shopping centre, open seven days a week with around 160 stores all under one roof.

Telford Markets
Telford markets serve the local community and now holds them in Telford, Madeley, Hadley, Oakengates, Dawley, Wellington and Newport.

Please find below a couple of the area's highlights:

Wellington
Wellington slowly grew in importance as a medieval market town. Its first charter was granted as early as 1244. But it is on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays that Wellington really comes alive, for it is still a market town in the classic English tradition. On those days it is home to Telford's busiest and liveliest indoor market.

Newport
Away from the centre of Telford is Newport, one of the most unspoiled market towns in the Borough. Newport has a fascinating history as a 12th century planned town which had to be rebuilt in the 17th century after a great fire. Newport retains its links with the agricultural communities through its weekly livestock and retail markets.
