Telford & Wrekin Council provides a wide range of
facilities in each of its cemeteries - including quiet seating
areas, shrubberies, rhododendrons, flowers and avenues of
wellintonia, chestnuts and oaks.
There is a chapel at Wellington Cemetery, with many beautiful and
interesting monuments.
Each of the cemeteries has its own character. Castle Green has a
rural setting; Wombridge portrays an image of being modest and
unpretentious; Wellington, located in the shadow of the Wrekin, is
the largest, and possibly the most traditional cemetery, with many
grand monuments.
Our cemeteries are generally open daily from 9am to dusk.
All cemetery records, dating back as far as 1874, are now kept by
Telford & Wrekin Council and are available upon
request.
