Renewal of vows ceremonies |
| What is a Renewal of Vows ceremony? These civil
ceremonies are specially designed to allow a couple who are married
or have entered into a civil partnership to re-pledge and celebrate
their love for one another and are often associated with different
occasions, for example a special wedding anniversary such as 10th,
25th or 40th. | |
These ceremonies are also particularly relevant to
couples whose relationship has been through a period of
considerable strain and having weathered the storm they feel that
it is time to renew their commitment to each other.
The content of the ceremony is chosen by you - the couple, you can
choose from a series of available options that reflect your own
feelings or sense of occasion. You can acknowledge your children,
you may wish to give new rings or gifts to each other. You may want
someone who attended your marriage, ie best man or chief
bridesmaid, father of the bride, to say some words, you can even
choose to include music and readings.
These ceremonies, although having no legal standing, offer a real
opportunity for the celebration of love and relationships.
