An accetpable behaviour contract (ABC) is a voluntary
agreement made between a person causing anti-social behaviour and
the local police, the person's school, registered social landlord
and any other relevant agency.
The ABC is a flexible agreement. They are normally used to deal
with problems caused by people aged between 10 and 17 years old but
can also be used with adults.
Accetpable behaviour contracts are a way of tackling a range of
problems before they get worse and although voluntary, provide
valuable evidence in court if an anit-social behaviour order is
being sought.
