| Council Tax replaced the old Community Charge (or Poll Tax)
system on 1st April 1993. Together with Business Rates, income from
services and central government grants, it provides the money spent
on local services.
These services include: schools, libraries, refuse collection,
social services, the police and fire authorities.
Every household has a liability for Council Tax.
