Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations
2005 |
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004 provide the public with access to
information held by public authorities.
| |
There is no right to re-use the information obtained i.e.
copy it or sell it on. However, the Re-use of Public Sector
Information Regulations 2005 now provide the public with the right
to request re-use of public information and impose obligations on
public sector bodies to licence re-use of information that they
have made available for this purpose.
The regulations apply to all documents that have been identified
as available for re-use and those that have been provided to an
applicant under the Freedom of Information Act.
