Equality and Diversity Homepage

Our objective is to be an inclusive organisation, ensuring that best practice in equality and diversity is embedded into all our policies, strategies, operational plans, practices and service delivery.

Our vision for equality and diversity is for a society which

  • has a common vision and shared values
  • improves the quality of life for all by reducing inequalities
  • tackles discrimination
  • builds strong cohesive communities
  • acknowledges that diversity brings an added value to the lives of all who live, work and travel to the area

New Hate incident and Harrassment Reporting System

We have introduced a new system for reporting hate incidents. If you feel you have been affected by discrimination you can report the information to us so that we can take action to prevent it occuring again. To find out more or make a report please visit the Hate Incident Reporting Page.

Remember hate incidents and discrimination are unacceptable. To stop it, report it.

Translation and Interpretation Service No Longer Running

Telford and Wrekin Council have made the decision to cease trading Translation and Interpretation services within the Equality and Diversity Business Unit from the 1st April 2009.

Should you wish to book a translator or interpreter your business will need to book directly with an agency and not through Telford and Wrekin Council.

Should you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact the Equality and Diversity Manager on 01952 382124.

On behalf of Telford and Wrekin Council I would like to thank you for your support of the Translation and Interpretation service and would like to wish you every success for the future.
