Sport Consultation Launches |
|
Telford & Wrekin Council has launched a four week
consultation to discover residents' opinions on Sport and Leisure
developments in the
borough. | |
|
The consultation, which takes place online and at Council
buildings across Telford and Wrekin, invites residents to comment
on the draft framework for improving leisure facilities in the
borough.
The framework, which outlines proposals for the provision of sports
and leisure facilities over the next 20 years, aims to provide high
quality school and community facilities that will help
significantly more people take up sport and physical activities in
Telford and Wrekin. It was developed by council officers working
with sports and leisure specialists Knight, Kavanagh and
Page.
People will be invited to comment on the future of new and improved
sports facilities, some of which will be part of the new learning
communities.
Cllr Denis Allen, Cabinet Member for Community Services, said:
"Leisure and Sport are very important to everyone in Telford and
Wrekin and we're aiming to have first class facilities.
"Many of these facilities are in our borough towns, so these
improvements will help the Council achieve its commitment to bring
improvements as part of our Borough Town Initiative."
As well as consulting with the public, the Council is also writing
to all known sports clubs which may want to use the new facilities.
The Council asked for local groups to provide their contact details
to ensure they are included in the mailing list.
Anyone wanting know more can view the display boards and talk to
