Earlier this year, Telford & Wrekin Council launched
the Borough Towns Initiative, a plan which aims to regenerate
Borough Towns and local centres across the borough. Brookside and
Sutton Hill local centres are among the first areas to be focused
on.
Residents in Brookside and Sutton Hill will now be given a chance
to outline to Telford & Wrekin Council what improvements they
would like to see in their local centres.
The two consultations, called "Working with you for a better
Sutton Hill and Brookside", aim to gather residents' views not only
on the local centres but on the neighbourhood areas in general and
residents' priorities for improvement.
Residents have already played a big part in the consultation
process by attending regular community meetings set up by the
council.
Questionnaires will be posted out to all Brookside and Sutton
Hill residents on Friday 11th April. Copies will also be available
from the local community centres.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Andrew Eade, said: "This is
the first stage in delivering on our commitment to revitalise our
local centres as well as the borough towns, nobody knows Sutton
Hill and Brookside better than the residents who live there so it
is vital they have the opportunity to shape their
communities.
"The residents of both areas have already played an important part
in the consultation, which will give people the chance to tell us
what they like about where they live and what could be
improved.
"The best way for people to influence what goes on in their area is
to get involved and tell us their views, we cannot do everything so
it is vital we hear what people`s priorities are."
Residents who take part in the questionnaire and return their
form by Friday 23rd May have the chance to win £50 in a prize
draw.
Completed questionnaires can be returned using the Freepost
envelope provided or by dropping the survey off at the Civic
Offices or Darby House. If you have any questions about the
Brookside Survey please contact Keith Whitton on 01952 382182. If
