Welcome to Telford's 40th Celebrations, Monday 30 June to Sunday 6 July at Telford Shopping Centre. The full events programme has now been announced.

Monday 30 June - Saturday 5 July
Sherwood Square (by Debenhams)
• Love the 60s exhibition
• Come and meet Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - the car from the 1968 film. PLUS enter our great
competition to win a free ride in Chitty.
Please note: On Friday 4th July, Chitty will be replaced by the James Bond car: the Aston Martin
DB5.

Dean Square (by Primark)
• Telford Shopping Centre archive and future development proposals display
Wyre Hall (by JJBs)
• 1968 - 2008 Telford Milestones display
• 1968 - 2008 World Events display
• 1968 - 2008 Oakengates Theatre artistes display
• Local industry archives display
• Family memorabilia display and Bridges Project display (Bridges is a Shropshire-based
Development Education Centre working closely with ethnic minority families and communities
living in Telford and Shropshire)
• Live Here & Love It - win a Family Passport to the Ironbridge Gorge Museums worth £45, which
gives you and your family access to explore all ten museums for a whole year! All you have to do
is tell us why you love living in Telford and Wrekin. It's that simple! A free t-shirt will be given away
for every entry, while stocks last.

Wyre Hall (by JJBs)
• 1960s fashion memorabilia display
• Fashion shows through four decades with dancing displays by local performers during the
afternoon with guest compere Clive Jones.

Southwater Square (by Telford Library)
10am - 4pm
• Beacon Radio Roadshow - music, quizzes, competitions and prizes
• Street Sports - supervised inflatable football fun for children
• Youth Bus - activities 13-19 olds
• Free face painting
• Street performers - stilt walker, circus skills, juggling, mix & mingle magician (11am - 4pm)

• Live performances by local bands:
o Rock band from Lord Silkin School
o Lord Silkin Lions Samba Band
o Paul Parker & All the Right Friends
3.30pm (approx) anniversary cake cutting in the presence of the Mayor of Telford & Wrekin, Lord
and Lady Grocott of Telford and David Wright MP (at approx 3.30 pm) and announcement of
competition winners.
