Residents and businesses across
the borough are being consulted on the future of Telford town
centre.
From 2 June, local people will be
asked their views on a range of topics from shopping to jobs, home
and leisure as part of a consultation on the new 'Central Telford
Area Action Plan'.
The action plan has been drawn up by
Telford & Wrekin Council to help build a 21st
century heart for Telford Town Centre between now and 2016. It's
hoped this new centre will include 2500 new homes and a significant
expansion of shops and offices in the area.
Local people will also be asked their
views on the neighbouring areas of Central Park, Old Park,
Hollinswood and Malinslee so that the whole of central Telford is
regenerated.
Head of Planning, Michael Barker,
said: "This consultation aims to give local people a voice so that
they are at the heart of plans to enhance Telford Town Centre. Only
by working with local people and businesses can we ensure that we
effectively regenerate the area for generations to come."
The consultation period will begin
Tues 2 June and run until 13 July. The action plan can be viewed at
