Borough of Telford & Wrekin

HLC - The story so far

Below is a summary of the facilities at the Hadley Learning Community & Jigsaw projects.

The Hadley Learning Community is an exciting new development designed to provide top quality education with purpose built areas for 21st Century learning - a new 1200 place secondary school, the relocated Bridge Special School and a new 420 place primary school.

Community facilities include a crèche, nursery and childcare support, health services for young children, a learning resource centre, 150 seat theatre, café, swimming pool, fitness gym and sports pitches.

A Warm Reception

The whole complex is linked through the reception area, which acts as a one-stop-shop for information, bookings and signposting to venues, with access for disabled people across the whole site.

The reception area is warm and inviting, offering a real opportunity for meeting and greeting friends and making new acquaintances in the café area.

Primary School

The primary school has been designed to be part of the campus providing a safe environment for younger children and linked to facilities across the site.

Children's Centre

The Children's Centre provides a range of health, education and social services plus childcare up to school age, crèche facilities, parenting classes, training, learning and play.

By linking with the primary school and nursery provision, children will be cared for throughout the working day.

The Bridge School

The Bridge School will have state-of-the-art facilities. The school is a centre of excellence providing education for pupils across Telford with very complex learning difficulties and giving support to mainstream schools for their pupils with special needs.

Engineering Specialism

The secondary school aims to become a specialist college for engineering, which will provide a strong focus on maths, science and design & technology while not overlooking the importance of the whole curriculum. A unique engineering gallery will enable pupils to gain hands-on experience and will be used as a workshop, conference venue and teaching space. With viewing from two floors it will act as an exciting visual focal point for the secondary school.

Community Facilities

With a whole host of community facilities including a Learning Resource Centre, indoor swimming pool, theatre, dance/drama studio, health & fitness suite, sports hall and extensive external pitches, you can partake in many activities safe in the knowledge that your children will be well cared for in the crèche, nursery or school.
