Borough of Telford & Wrekin

2 - The story so far

Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is the largest single investment that Telford & Wrekin schools have ever seen.

A £150 million investment which will transform the face of education in Telford & Wrekin was announced on 15 December 2006.

This is a major part of Telford & Wrekin Council's vision to raise achievement, aspirations and self-esteem by creating an inclusive Learning City.

Through the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, every secondary school in the borough will be either rebuilt or renewed with £150 million investment from the government and additional facilities will be provided through investment by the Council.

Each location will become a "learning community" with extensive facilities for holiday-time and community use. Council involvement will also enable many primary schools to be part of this exciting development. Plans are set out in the document " Strategy for Change Part 1" (the "What we are going to do") and in "Strategy for Change Part 2" (the "How we are going to do it"). Our plans will develop over time.

This is the largest single investment that Telford & Wrekin schools have ever seen and will allow the council to invest fully in the future of its children and young people.
