Changing from one school to another |

another | |
The decision to move your child from one school to
another should never be taken lightly. It is important for a child
to have a settled school placement throughout the primary and
secondary phase of their education.
Please discuss any concerns with your child's current headteacher
before deciding to move your child to a different school. If, after
this discussion, you still wish to transfer your child to another
school you should ask the current headteacher for a transfer form.
You must complete this form and return it to your child's current
school. The headteacher of your child's current school will then
liaise with the headteacher of the school requested. If a place is
unavailable at the requested school you will be informed of the
appeal procedure. You may also wish to contact the Admissions Team
by telephoning 01952 380901/380903/380904 to discuss alternative
schools with places available.
Moving your child during Year 10 or Year 11 could cause particular
problems as it is unlikely that your child's current GCSE courses
will be able to be matched at a different school.
It is possible for your child to remain at their current school if
you move to a new address within the area. However, you will need
to consider how your child will get to and from school; transport
assistance will not usually be provided by the Local Authority
(LA).
If your child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs you will
need to discuss any change of school with the LA's education
officer. | |
