Extended Learning

The Extended Learning team coordinates and delivers a wide range of extended learning activities across the borough in order to help raise achievement, aspiration and self-esteem of children and young people, by creating vibrant and inclusive learning communities.

Our aim is to:

  • provide high quality, safe extended learning experiences during term time and during school holidays;
  • raise aspirations of children and young people that build confidence and educate in terms of further / higher education and the world of work;
  • improve the health and well-being;
  • raise aspiration and attainment through the delivery of study support programmes, workshops, and other subject based provision;
  • improve the attitudes of children and young people by involving them in activities that make them feel a worthy part of their community;
  • improve attendance at school by showing children and young people that education is a worthwhile endeavour.
