Course intended for:-
Practitioners in all types of
setting. Prospective childminders awaiting registration will be
given priority. Existing childminders who have not done this
training previously must attend.
New staff in all other settings should attend this training.
Existing childcare workers in all settings should aim to update
their training at least every 2/3 years to ensure they are working
in line with current procedures.
Description:
This is a basic awareness
raising session that enables participants to:-
Gain an overview of the role of the Local Safeguarding Children
Board (LSCB)
Gain a better understanding of the four categories of abuse
Consider the necessary action they would take in the event of a
child protection concern
Understand their accountability and responsibility in relation to
child protection
To give participants an overview of the referral process.
