Recent Changes in OFSTED inspection and regulation
following the implementation of the Children Act 2004, the Bichard
enquirey and Every Child Matters have highlighted the need for
childcare settings to ensure the recruitment processes reflect the
importance of safeguarding children.
This very important workshop will consider how to make the
recruitment of staff and volunteers as safe as possible, looking at
pre-employment checks and the selection process. Recruitment
frameworks will be considered and the difficulties in balancing the
need to recruit swiftly with the priority of making safe
appointments. The workshop will also consider what to do if it all
goes wrong.
