Advice:

  • Pre-application advice is available.
  • We will facilitate a partnering arrangement with an individual local authority at the request of the developer, which will be supported by a regional network as necessary.
  • On large projects we aim to nominate an officer to offer pre-application advice and to deal with the project through to completion.
  • We will facilitate in liaising with other organisations and agencies, including Council departments related to the development, throughout the life of the project.
  • Local site histories and knowledge can be made available to the developer.
  • If unexpected problems arise on site, then consultation can be arranged.

Plans stage:

  • We welcome early discussion on appropriate fees and give positive consideration to requests for stage payments
  • We aim to acknowledge receipt and validate all applications within three working days
  • We aim to check all applications within 15 working days
  • We aim to approve your application and can offer advice as to the requirements of the regulations
  • We can provide technical guidance to ensure uniformity of interpretation

Inspections:

  • All inspections requested before 10am will be carried out that day (other than for completions).
  • Inspections can be arranged by telephone, fax or any other electronic means.
  • Completion Certificates will be issued free of charge.
  • Special arrangements can be made and an inspection service agreed to suit your requirements on large projects.
