| The address of a property is increasingly becoming a very
important issue. More organisations, postal and emergency services,
and the general public need an efficient means of locating and
referencing
properties. | |
| Telford & Wrekin Council is the street naming and
numbering authority for the administrative area of Telford &
Wrekin. It carries out these functions under the provisions of the
Public Health Act 1925 sections 17 -19, in specific
key stages.
The service provides the principal point of contact for
address issues. These include
street naming and numbering for
new developments and properties, change of house name, street
names and street name plates,
renaming and renumbering. We maintain the
definitive record of street names and property addresses, but
are not responsible for issuing new
postcodes.
The following pages detail our present processes for address
management, our development of a Land & Property Gazetteer will
over time update these processes.
