| Building control is responsible for checking Building
Regulation applications, inspecting work on site and dealing with
contravention's of the Building Regulations, the conservation of
fuel and power, dangerous structures, demolitions and safety at
sports grounds. | |
| The building control function is carried out within the
council's Environment and Regeneration portfolio. The section has a
Team Leader, a Senior Building Control Surveyor, a plan vetting
Building Control Surveyor, three Area Building Control Surveyors
and their Assistant Building Control Surveyors.
A level of service has been established for housing
developments, industrial and commercial work. Details are available

A full site inspection service is provided; Saturday morning
inspections are by arrangement on large, complex or difficult
projects.
Meeting facilities with limited free parking are available at
the Darby House Offices.
This section also deals with dangerous structures, demolitions,
the safety at sports grounds and street naming and numbering.
Telford
& Wrekin's Planning Service has two units, Development
Plans and Sustainability, dealing with the policies for the
Council's area and Development and Design, which deals with
planning applications, appeals and developer
