The prime purpose of this is to identify potential areas
that could give rise to the spread of infectious disease e.g.
legionella and to ensure preventative measures are taken to
eliminate the risk of such infection to employees and the
public.
Registration will provide the information to enable any outbreak
to be properly investigated. All changes and alterations should
also be notified to the Local Authority.
There is no charge for registration.

Operators of installations should be aware that both the local
authority and Health & Safety Executive (HSE) will undertake a
number of visits to their premises to ensure standards are met and
will take enforcement action where appropriate.
