The food health and safety section undertakes a variety
of proactive ane reactive food sampling initiatives. Samples are
regularly collected from retailers, producers and manufacturers
throughout the borough.
This food is examined for microbiological quality and assessed for
compliance with statutory rquirements and recommended
guidelines.
Telford and Wrekin also participates in regional and national
sampling programmes co-ordinated by organisations including the
Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services
(LACORS) and the Food Standards Agency.
These are often targeted surveys looking at high risk foods.
