The scheme serves as a good advertisement for those food
businesses that practice high standards of hygiene. This in turn
may lead to an increase in business and reward food business
operators for their effort. Several local authorities throughout
the country are taking part in the scheme, most are using the same
scoring system and star ratings to make sure consistency.
