The council recognises the importance of creating a successful, vibrant and attractive Town Centre in Telford.
In October 2003, the Borough Council (supported by English Partnerships) began the process of producing a development framework for Telford Town Centre based upon and expanding upon work previously carried out in 2001 and fulfilling the commitment it made in the Wrekin Local Plan to provide more detail guidance.
The Telford Town Centre Development Control Guidance was approved by Full Council in January 2005 subject to final consultation and the document was fully adopted in October 2005.
