Lightmoor

New urban village being developed by English Partnerships and Bournville village trust.

This 72 hectare site is being developed as a mixed-use sustainable community

It is being jointly promoted by English Partnerships and Bournville Village Trust.

The site is being developed in the spirit of Birmingham's Bournville Village, a world famous example of an urban community created by George Cadbury, founder of the Bournville Village Trust.

Outline Planning permission has been granted for up to eight hundred homes and a mixed use village centre which will include local shops, a family pub/restaurant, a primary school and permanent BVT office. A community centre will provide indoor recreation facilities, healthcare, multi faith worship, indoor sports and community management offices.

The site is being marketed in phases. Detailed planning applications are submitted in accordance with the principles established through the master-planning process. The master plan was produced by Tibbalds TM2 on behalf of the Partners.

The first phase of 40 dwellings called the Laurels has been constructed by Persimmon Homes. The second phase of 108 dwellings called Oakham Manor is under construction by George Wimpey.

Crest Nicholson (Midlands) have recently been selected to construct the village centre, including a further 222 dwellings.
