Involving the
Community
The council wants to involve the community throughout all the
stages of producing a new Local Development Framework (LDF). The
new planning system requires all planning authorities to prepare a
Statement of Community Involvement that sets out how and when
people will be able to engage in both plan preparation and the
determination of planning applications. To this end the first Local
Development Framework document to be prepared by the council is the
'Statement of Community Involvement' (SCI).
Statement of Community Involvement
There are two aspects to the Statement:
Following receipt of the Inspector's Report and its approval by
Cabinet, the Borough formally adopted its Statement of Community
