Planning Portal
The Planning Portal is the Government's on-line service for planning and is the first point of call for anyone who wants to find out about the planning system in England and Wales.

Each section offers information on a different aspect of the planning system. You can navigate between these sections yourself or follow links that will take you to related pages across the site or to other external sites that contain relevant information.

You can also specify a location on the Planning Portal. This allows you to view information specifically designed for your area as well as giving you local contacts, which you can use to gain further information. The main parts of the Planning Portal are:

1. Guide to the Planning Portal - offers a brief introduction to the Planning system and some explanation of what Planning is for and why it is important; intended for both householders and business people and explains why Planning controls are necessary and how decisions are made.

2. Plans - the Telford & Wrekin Local Plan can be found on the Portal.

3. Application Forms - planning applications and accompanying drawings/documents/photographs can be submitted electronically to the Borough Council using the portal and payment of application fee's through the Borough Council's on-line payment facility. You can also use this service to help to produce your proposal and then print your forms and submit them by post. You can also use the on-line applications service to produce a site location plan to accompany your application.

4. Appeal - you can check your rights to appeal against a decision made by the Borough Council. You can also track the progress of an appeal on line.

5. Study - the Study section aims to help people to teach or learn about Town & Country Planning at all levels and in all types of education.

6. Research - the Research section provides detailed information to help professional planners, lawyers, students, academics and others with an in-depth interest in Town & Country Planning.
