This thirty five hectare brown-field site is the only designated Millennium Communities project in the Midlands Region.

This national exemplar project aims to demonstrate that high quality, energy efficient, environmentally responsible development is achievable regardless of geographical location. The development is required to meet fixed environmental targets, such as Ecohomes excellent rating.

For More information on the Millennium Communities Programme, visit the English Partnerships web site.

The project involves Telford and Wrekin Council and English Partnerships working together as joint landowners. Taylor Woodrow has been chosen as the lead developer and Beth Johnson Housing Group has been selected to provide the affordable housing on the site. The project architects are Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands.

Outline planning permission has been granted for a mixed use development of up to 750 residential and live work units and a new local centre comprising of ancillary small scale employment, retail, leisure, primary school and community uses.

The scheme involved the Partners in a considerable amount of collaborative working and community engagement through the master-planning stage. Consultants JRUD and Urbed were involved in the preparation of the master-plan.
