That's the message from Telford & Wrekin Council this
month as 20 brand new plastic bottle banks are being rolled out
across the borough. Following consultation with Parish and Town
Councils the first plastic bottle banks are now in place.
The new bottle banks are being coordinated by Recresco and Telford
& Wrekin Services (TWS). Recresco will empty each bank by
'vacuuming' the plastic bottles into a lorry for recycling.
In addition to using the
kerbside recycling service for other items
please do your bit for the environment by taking your plastic
bottles to the new sites for recycling. An additional 32 banks
will be rolled out throughout the borough later this year, which
will make it easy for Telford residents to recycle their plastic
bottles.
Only plastic bottles can be placed in these banks.
At present the council do not have recycling facilities for other
types of plastic.
When using the banks, please follow this simple 1,2,3 so that the
banks contain as many bottles as possible, This means that the
lorries make fewer trips and helps to reduce Telford's impact on
the environment.
