Anybody using a trailer or commercial type vehicle (vans
& pick-ups) will require permits to use the CRC's. Private
cars including estate cars, people carriers and 4x4 vehicles which
only have forward facing seats do not need
permits.
Important notes:
- Permits are free.
- Having a valid permit does not entitle the holder to deposit
trade waste at any CRC.
- Permits should be applied for well in advance and will be
issued by post. (Please allow for up to 2 weeks for delivery, but
usually delivery will be within 1 week)
- Permits issued by Telford & Wrekin Council can be used at
all Shropshire sites. Permits issued by Shropshire County Council
can be used at all of Telford & Wrekin Council sites.
- Permits are non-transferable.
- Permits are issued in groups of 10 (or 5 if the vehicle is
owned by another person). You must give 1 to the site supervisor
each time you enter a site. He will then check the waste is
household not trade and that the permit corresponds to the
vehicle.
- If any of your details necessary for the permits change (i.e.
your vehicle details) you must fill out another permit form and
return unused permits as they will be no-longer valid.
- To apply for more free permits just call 01952 384384. New
permits are only issued when you have 3 or less remaining
unused.
Hired vehicles - if hiring a vehicle for one day only please
take hire company documentation and some proof of your home address
with you to the CRC. You will then need to complete a simple form,
before you will be allowed to deposit household waste. If hiring a
vehicle for more than one day, please apply for permits in the
usual way.
If any person deposits waste inside or outside the CRC, after being
refused permission to deposit waste, details of the incident will
be reported. Maximum penalty for fly-tipping is
£20,000.
