The Town Centre
The multi million pound development of the Town Centre is crucial
to the future of Telford. Several partners are working together to
deliver the project, including Telford & Wrekin Council,
Transforming Telford, English Partnerships and
Advantage West Midlands. It will bring new jobs and help to create
a sense of place.
The vision is to create an 18 hour, seven day a week, vibrant and
sustainable heart for Telford including high quality leisure and
cultural facilities that extend well into the evening. there will
be new City Living apartments and family housing integrated into
commercial, mixed use and extended retail development. The expanded
Town Centre will be designed around new high quality public realm
and public spaces. Southwater is the first phase of the exciting
transformation of the Town Centre, creating a new quarter for the
town. Southwater will provide improved cultural and leisure
facilities, new residential and commercial development and will
integrate with Telford Shopping Centre, Telford International
Centre and civic spaces. | |
Woodside Regeneration
Project Telford & Wrekin Council,
Transforming Telford, English Partnerships and
Advantage West Midlands, together with other local, regional and
national organisations, are also working together on the Woodside
Regeneration Project.
The vision sets out that by 2015 Woodside will be a place where
people want to live and choose to stay following a multi-million
programme of physical and social regeneration. major report called
the 'Strategic Regeneration Framework' was produced in 2003.
Through this framework, the 10 year Regeneration Project seeks to
physically transform Woodside and its surrounding area.

Telford ERDF Strategic Regeneration
Package The Telford ERDF Strategic Regeneration
Package evolved as a result of European Objective 2 funding to
facilitate the completion and expansion of a variety of
infrastructure projects. The overall delivery of the package is
accountable to Government Office West Midlands and the European
Commission. The main eligibility criteria is to improve the economy
of the area.
The package contains 13 projects. The total value of the package is
approx £41m, with approx £10m of the total provided through EU
