Mental Health Services

Adult Mental Health Services are available for people of working age (16-65 years) with mental health problems in Telford & Wrekin. Services include:

  • assessment and care management via community teams,
  • the purchase of homecare and residential/nursing care where appropriate,
  • crisis resolution and home treatment,
  • a 24 hour nurse care unit,
  • hospital inpatient services,
  • social inclusion & recovery services (previously day services),

Adult Mental Health Services work in partnership with the South Staffordshire & Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust but also work closely with the voluntary sector and independent and private organisations to promote the independence, rehabilitation, social inclusion and recovery of people with a mental illness.


Referrals for Adult Mental Health Services are accepted by Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) in Telford, via health professionals. There are 3 Community Mental Health Teams in Telford:
