We want to identify and help
people who may be in need of our services because;
■ of a mental or other
disability
■ of age or illness
■ they are unable to take care of themselves, or
■ they are unable to protect themselves against significant harm
or exploitation,
We aim to make sure that individuals
who have harmed vulnerable people in the past are not employed by
us or other caring agencies.
Our work in this field involves
co-operating closely with our colleagues outside Social Services,
especially in the Health Service, the Police, Housing and the
Commission for Social Care Inspection
Social Services is subject to a number
of legal obligations in this area and we take this responsibility
very seriously. Staff receive specific training about the
protection of vulnerable adults, and will respond with sensitivity
and confidence to any information they receive. The source of
information will be treated as confidential and will only be shared
with others if it helps to protect the vulnerable adult.

Multi-Agency Policy here

If you have a concern about the safety or vulnerability of an adult
in our area, please contact one of the offices listed under
Services for Adults.
