| If you are older or disabled the council can help you to
get your home adapted to meet your
needs: | |
Today many disabled people enjoy greater independence in
their own homes thanks to special equipment and adaptations.
Carers, too, find their task is made easier by caring for a
disabled person in surroundings which are tailored to meet their
needs.
We have produced a six-step guide for people with a physical
disability, and their carers, on how to get your home adapted.
Please look under Forms on the right of this page.
The guide explains how to get your home successfully adapted. This
includes the criteria the disabled person will have to meet, how to
apply for a grant, planning the alterations and getting the work
done. We can help you at every step along the way.
