If you are older or disabled the Council can help you to
get your home adapted to meet your needs.
Today many disabled people enjoy greater independence in their
own homes thanks to special equipment and adaptations. Carers, too,
find caring is made easier by supporting a disabled person in
surroundings which are tailored to meet their needs.
We have produced a
six step guide (pdf 771.48Kb) for people with a disability, and
their carers, on how to get your home adapted.
This guide explains how to get your home successfully adapted. It
includes the criteria the disabled person will have to meet, how to
apply for a grant, planning the alterations and getting the work
done. We can help you at every step along the way.
For more information, or to make an enquiry about adaptations to
your home, call 01952 381397, or email
