How and where to pay your Council Tax

Payment
The front of your Council Tax bill shows the total amount to be paid, and the amount and due date of each instalment.

How to pay
The following methods are available:

Direct Debit
Is the cheapest, safest and most efficient way to pay your Council Tax. We offer the choice of 5 payment dates; 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd or 28th of the month for Direct Debit payers. If you wish to pay by Direct Debit, you can now sign up over the telephone. Just call our Customer Contact Centre on (01952) 383838 and we will be happy to help.

Credit and Debit Card
Payments can be made using a Credit or Debit Card at our Cash Desk at Civic Offices, Telford. We accept Mastercard, Visa Debit, Switch and Solo Debit Cards.

Telephone Payments
Can be made using a Credit or Debit Card. Please telephone (01952) 383977. Please have your card details, Council Tax account reference number and payment details available. You have the option to speak to an operator or use an automated message service.

The telephone service for card payments is available 24 hours a day. An automated message service operates outside of our office opening hours.

Cheques and Cash
Can be paid in person at our Cash Office at Civic Offices. Cheques should be made payable to Telford & Wrekin Council. Cheques can also be posted to Telford & Wrekin Council, P.O. Box 215, Civic Offices, Telford TF3 4LF.

At the Post Office
You can pay your Council Tax at any Post Office. If you want to use this service, you must use the barcode on your most recent bill or reminder notice. Cheques should be made payable to 'Post Office Ltd'. If you do not have a recent bill or reminder notice please telephone our Customer Contact Centre (01952 383838) who will be happy to send one to you.

At a Paypoint or PAYzone Outlet
You can also pay your council Tax at a wide range of locations across the Telford & Wrekin district, wherever the Paypoint or PAYzone logos are displayed. These include a range of local shops and garages, and the network is expanding all the time.

You must use the barcode on your most recent bill or reminder notice each time you use this service.

Please note that some outlets will only accept cash payments.
