Borough of Telford & Wrekin

Finding a home

If you need to find somewhere to live in the Telford and Wrekin area, there are a number of ways you can do this. You can find all the information you need by clicking on the links on the right-hand side of this page.
If you wish to rent a property from one of the housing associations in the area, you will only have to register once. You will then be able to express an interest in any of the properties owned by the five main housing associations in the borough. For more information on registering, please follow the link to the 'Applying for a Housing Association Property' page.

If you want to rent a property from a private landlord, there are a number of letting agents as well as landlords who advertise their services in local newspapers and in many other ways - for example, on the Internet. If you do not have Internet access at home, you can go to your local library and use the Internet for free - an assistant will help you if you don't know what to do.

If you want to buy your own home, there are a number of schemes which may be able to help you. For further information, follow the link to the 'Low Cost Home Ownership' page where you will find everything you need.

Our Housing Options Team can advise you on renting a home - either from a housing association or private landlord - and are also able to provide you with advice about schemes which may help you in buying your own home.

For information on how to contact the Housing Options Team, please follow the link on the right-hand side of the page.
