| If you have a housing query or problem, the council's
Housing Options Team can help
you. | |
|
The Housing Options Team offer free, independent housing
advice to anyone with a housing problem, no matter whether you own
your own house, rent from a housing association or rent from a
private landlord. We can advise on a range of housing options
including renting from a private landlord and access to bond
schemes and rent deposit schemes.
If you do have a housing problem, the first step is to call our
Helpline on 01952 381925 so that we can assess your situation and
advise you of the best options for you. There is also a leaflet
entitled 'Are you worried about losing your home?' located on the
right-hand side of this page, which you might like to read as it
gives an outline of the services we can provide for you.
We can also help if:
- you have rent or mortgage arrears
- you are threatened with eviction or repossession
- your accommodation is unsuitable due to medical needs
- you are suffering from physical or emotional abuse
- you think that you may be homeless
When you contact our Helpline, you can be sure your call will be
dealt with in confidence. Our trained staff will arrange an
interview if you need it - this will take place within 14 days of
your request for an appointment.
Could a Housing Officer visit me at home?
If it is difficult for you to come to Darby House in person, we may
be able to visit you at home - just tell the person you are
speaking to that you would like a home visit.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. We would prefer you make an appointment because if you arrive
at Darby House without one, there may not be a Housing Officer free
to see you and you would have a wasted journey.
Phone 01952 381925 and speak to a Housing Officer who will help you
with your problem. If the Housing Officer needs to see you in
person, they will make an appointment for you.
What if I need to change my appointment?
If you need to change your appointment for any reason, please let
us know so we can see someone else. Another appointment will be
made for you at a time and on a date that better suits you - it's
no problem at
all. | |
