Arts Development
I am a local artist, what opportunities are there for me to exhibit
my work? The Place @ Oakengates has a gallery. There
is an annual Open Exhibition to which any artist can submit two
pieces of recent work, see the
Conditions of Entry - Open Exhibition 2008 (PDF 57k). Artists
are also invited to submit work for consideration at any time, see
the
Call for Artists to Exhibit (PDF 14k).
How are arts projects selected? The Team
seeks external funding from a variety of sources and partnerships
to deliver on a wide variety of objectives often with a social
agenda.
What opportunities are there for local artists to work on
community projects? The Team offers contracts to
experienced participatory artists interested in working with the
community. Project briefs are advertised through local networks
such Aliss and
Shropshire & Telford Arts
Partnership. Less experienced artists are often given
opportunities to work in support roles.
