The Arts Team 4 children and young people

Throughout the year the Children & Young People's Arts Team have delivered creative workshops for all children and young people, with a focus on those at risk of social exclusion.

Set up in 2003 following consultation by the Children's Fund with children and young people who requested more arts activities. The core team is made up of an arts co-ordinator and two artists working part time . On top of this we contract in additional artists as needed or requested by young people.

We work in a way that respects each other 's rights, views and opinions. All of our work aims to encourage children and young people to be positive about themselves and their abilities through being creative.

We offer young people:

  • Exciting and engaging creative activities.
  • A chance to shine in a different way.
  • Genuine and appropriate consultation.
  • An opportunity to be instrumental in project planning and delivery.
  • New Ideas and new ways of working.
  • A chance to meet new people
  • The chance to discover talents and a new direction.

We offer our partners and commissioners:

  • Extended learning opportunities that have demonstrable outcomes.
  • Projects that encourage active citizenship with young people.
  • A means of identifying and supporting talented young people.
  • Innovative and effective professional development for people who work with young people.
  • Stronger partnerships through access to expertise, networks and opportunities.
  • Imaginative client-client consultation, evaluation and issue based training.
