Sports Coaching & Development

Strategic framework for sport, recreation and physical activity.
Major contributor to policy framework and its ongoing development for the borough.
PE, School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL)
Liaison and partnership development with lead agencies to improve and coordinate opportunities to participate in PE, sport and physical activity, including specialist sports colleges, school sport partnerships, Primary Care Trust (PCT) etc.
Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin Sports Partnership/Active Sports
Liaison and partnership development with county council, district council and sports governing body partners.
Active England
Partnership and project development in liaison with the local Primary Care Trust to deliver the 'Lets Get Physical' programme for Telford's priority communities including those with disabilities.
Child protection in sport
Leading policy for the borough relating to leisure personnel, leisure facility hirers and sports clubs.
Active Schools Programme
Management of the curriculum TOPs programme and support the Busy Breaks, Jumping Jaxx and Huff 'n' Puff initiatives in partnership with the PCT. Support the programmes with in the PESSCL strategy including supoort for the National Professional Development Programme for PE and Sport. Investigate options relating to Schools Workforce Reform and manage training for adults other than teachers (AOTTs) linked with this.
Football Foundation
Development and delivery of the Learning Centre LAC and vulnerable children learning, PFS and activity programme, linking to Telford College of Arts & Technology and AFC Telford Utd.
Community and Schools Sports Activity
Manage the football, multi-sports, and street-sports schemes supporting curriculum, out of school hours and community provision.
Community Sports Coaches Scheme
Coordinate in partnership with TCAT, Madeley Court and the Active Sports team the deployment of the full and part time Community Sports Coaches.
Events
Administration and organisation of PE and Sports events involving athletics, basketball, football, hockey, rugby, swimming and team organisation for the borough's Youth Games Multi-Sport team.
Woodside regeneration multi-activities
Manage the Sure Start and Regeneration Funded multi-activity programme targeting those living in Woodside Ward.
New opportunities for PE and sport
Management of the Big Lottery PE and Sport Capital Programme on behalf of the Authority
Phoenix school specialist sport college bid
Provide support and advice in the development of the community element of the bid.
Grant advisory service
Providing advice to the Sports Voluntary Sector, relating to the procurement of Lottery sponsorship and trust resources.
Sports Scholarships and Coach Development Fund
Manage the distribution of funding to young local sports performers and active community sports volunteers.
Voluntary PE and Sports Groups Administration
Supporting the work of the borough's Sports Advisory Council, Martial Arts Advisory Group, and Primary Schools PE and Sport Association.
Ricoh Leisure Sponsorship
Management of the Private Company Sponsorship Agreement and its investment into PE, Sport and Physical activity opportunities.
