Local Tennis Opportunities |
 |
Tennis is a great game, it is FUN and is played by all
ages and all abilities, including wheelchair and disabilities
tennis. Mini Tennis is available from the age of 4 upwards, and is
an opportunity for them to learn how to move and co-ordinate. It is
split into Mini Red, Orange and Green levels depending on
children's age and ability.
The learning of these skills will undoubtedly help improve all
round ability at many ball based sports. It is an opportunity for
adults of all abilities to play a social, enjoyable and competitive
sport at a surprisingly low cost. it is a sport that is healthy and
will help everyone improve fitness and agility.
Background Developing tennis
opportunities throughout the year in the Borough is a key target
for the Council Sports Development Plan.
Underlying this theme, Barclays Spaces for Sports in conjunction
with Telford and Wrekin Council, local councils and other partners
rebuilt the courts at Dawley and Hartshill parks in the summer of
2007, and has enabled the courts to be brought back into action,
and now provide a positive addition to sports available to the
community.
All Council park tennis courts are open and free to the public to
use from dawn to dusk, except when council run coaching activities
are being run at Dawley and Hartshill parks, when 'polite notices'
advising of usage led activities will be on display.
