Experience
16-18 year olds
The Leisure Centres work with
TCAT to provide Entry 2 Employment opportunities for 16-18 year
olds. The main aim of the programme is to provide young people with
NVQ Level 1 in Sports & Recreation, a National Pool Lifeguard
Qualification in addition to customer care skills, First Aid and
Health & Safety training. The programme to date has had over 40
trainees with some gaining employment, some trainees just gaining
new qualifications and essential experience.
Modern
Apprenticeships
Some trainees have moved on to become
Modern Apprentices. For further details of the Modern

Apprenticeships
Leisure Centres are always seeking to
recruit qualified and experienced instructors on a casual basis
particularly for swimming and aerobics. Contracted vacancies are
advertised in the Shropshire Star, Leisure Opportunities and are
