The concession scheme exists to give equal access to all
residents, whatever their circumstances, to council owned leisure
facilities within the borough.
Entitlement To qualify for concessionary
admission, a free Flex card, must be applied for at one of Telford
and Wrekin's nine leisure centres.
The scheme is available only to the groups of Telford and Wrekin
residents listed below (except in the case of group 2, where
concessionary admission is also available to non-residents).
1. People/families in receipt of Council Tax Benefit, Housing
Benefit or free school meals.
2. People in receipt of one or more of the following: Incapacity
Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance, Disability Living Allowance,
Disability Working Allowance, Disabled Person's Tax Credit,
Industrial Disablement, Attendance Allowance, Mobility
Allowance.
3. Senior Citizens (people over 60 years of age).
4. Full time students aged 16 and over.
Concession Rates People in groups 1, 2 and 3
are entitled to free swimming during public sessions, free ice
skating (plus standard price skate hire) at off-peak times, and
reduced price admission to other activities, as determined by each
leisure centre.
People in group 4 are entitled to the same admission rate as
young people aged 15 and under.
Notes
Concessions are only available on certain individual activities -
not on group activities or block bookings, except by prior
agreement with the centre manager.
Concessionary visits are limited to one per activity, per
day.
The carer of a person in group 2 will be admitted free of
charge.
