Bowring Park

Bowring Park was created in 1910 and is used for informal recreation such as walking, children's play and picnics. The park is very popular for more formal sport and has an active bowls and social club on site with football, tennis and cricket being played seasonally

History:
Bowring Park is situated on land bequeathed to the residents of Wellington for recreational use in 1910 by Ann Bowling. The land was transferred to the Local Authority in 1926. Since that date Bowring Park has gradually been extended through the purchase of adjacent land and currently covers an area of 4.28 hectares.

Facilities Available:
Bowring Park offers a NEAP (Neighbourhood Equipped Area for Play) play area, one bowling green and club house, grass and tarmac tennis courts and also football and cricket provision with changing facilites. Car parking is available.

Events Programme:
Every summer the local Lions Club organises a charity event to include charity stalls and funfair. Also during the summer months the Borough of Telford & Wrekin Education Unit operates Summer Play Schemes.
