Thursday 20th November The 14th
Annual Tree of Light Appeal Opening Ceremony
Dean Square, Telford Shopping
Centre The
Tree of Light Appeal is organised by the four Rotary Clubs of
Telford - Ironbridge, Telford Centre, Wellington and The Wrekin and
gives people the chance to sponsor a light on a Christmas tree set
up in Telford Shopping Centre in memory of a loved one. This year's
nominated charities are the Severn Hospice, Telford and four
charities nominated by the Rotary clubs.This year the the lights
will be switched on by the Bishop of Lichfield, the Rt Rev Jonathan
Gledhill with seasonal music provided by The Salvation Army Band.
The ceremony begins at 4pm.
Application forms are available at the information kiosks and Cafe
Giardino in Telford Shopping Centre and are also printed weekly in
the Telford Journal.

Saturday 22nd November Ironbridge Gorge
Christmas Lights Switch On
The Square, Ironbridge The lights will be switched on
by a surprise guest at 6:30pm.
Fireworks display and traditional torch light walk over the
Ironbridge with Santa plus prize for the best torch
decoration!
The shops will also be open into the evening for Christmas
shopping.

Oakengates The Musical Theatre Academy
present the Sondheim and Bernstein classic West Side Story in its
50th anniversary year since its London debut. Please note West Side
Story replaces the previously advertised show,
Scrooge.

Shopping Centre Come and meet Santa and real
reindeer from the Cairgorms for the opening of this year's Grotto.

Coalbrookdale Contemporary Craft and Fine Food Fair
organised by Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust and The Shropshire
Guild of Contemporary Crafts. An opportunity to view and buy
original craft work of the highest quality as well as to sample and
purchase delicacies from local producers.
10am to 5pm.

Festival Market
Ironbridge
The Festival Market will be held from 10am - 4:30pm in
Merrythought car park and buildings.
Buy Christmas gifts and decorations, visit Father Christmas in his
working toy factory, sample some festive drinks at the Micro
Brewery. Wrap up warm and let the Victorian Carol singers serenade
you as you shop.

Lights Extravaganza
Market Square, Wellington The day will begin with
musical entertainment in the Square:

11.15-11.45am, Wrekin View School
12 noon to 12.30pm, Dothill School
1.30-3pm, New College Jazz Band
3.30-4.30pm, Wellington (Telford) Brass Band and Churches
Together.
The lights will be switched on at 4.45pm by the Mayor, Cllr Karen
Tomlinson ably assisted by Father Christmas.

Oakengates This is the show that Bee Gees fans
everywhere have been waiting for featuring the stunningly
convincing vocals of brothers Darren and Gary Simmons and Jarrod

back in t me to watch the ladies of the town busily preparing

Oakengates Welsh male voice choir performing favourites
such as Myfanwy, Gwyr Harlech and Cwm Rhonda as well as songs
recorded by Queen, West Life and Robbie Williams.
