Borough of Telford & Wrekin

Rural transport

Across the 112 square miles of Telford and Wrekin, 73% is classified as rural in character. With the vast majority of the population living in the urban area of Telford, providing transport to fulfil the needs of the rural community poses a challenge. Conventional bus services may not be appropriate and other solutions need to be put in place to allow people to access transport, local services and facilities.

Some of the transport solutions already available to our rural residents are

Wrekin Connect bus services

The Gorge Connect bus service

Wheels 2 Work

Wrekin Community Cars

Jackfield Connect bus service

The Jackfield Connect FREE bus service is available from Ironbridge Toll House to Jackfield Tile Museum, Maws Craft Centre, Memorial Bridge and back. The service is available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and every day during the school holidays.

The service is brought to you by Transforming Telford in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council.

Details of all transport in the area is available within the Telford Travelink pages.

The Transport Accessibility Officer is responsible for all aspects of rural transport. If you have any queries or comments about rural transport, please contact us
