Borough of Telford & Wrekin

Safe Walking

Nearly 100 pedestrians are killed each year in the UK, and approximately 45,000 injured. Pedestrians make up over a quarter of all road deaths in the UK and this is why it is so important for everyone to be aware when out and about.

Child Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable of all road users. Teaching them to use the roads safely is an important part of helping them to avoid injury.

Adults are generally considered to be safer on the roads than children. But adult pedestrians should still bear in mind that they need to use their skills and experience to keep themselves safe.
